Capatronics varistor is a polycrystalline ceramic body consisting of semiconducting Zinc-oxide (ZnO) grains and second phase (including Bi2O3, Sb2O3, MnO, CoC, etc.) located at the joints of the grains. Its called varistor (variable resistor ), surge absorber or TVS (transient voltage suppressor ) because of its electrical resistance varies nonlinearly with the voltage applied to its terminals.
